Professor Gui Kang Wei, the Grandmaster of TCM
The third Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine and one of the first academicians of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, was born in October 1938 and graduated from Henan Pingle Orthopedic College in 1964. He was assigned to work at Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine (renamed from Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medicine College in 2012) and has been there ever since. He has served as the president of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medicine College, president of Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medicine College, and director of the Institute of Orthopedics and Traumatology. After starting his work, he furthered his studies in Tianjin, Beijing, and Shanghai for two years. Currently, he is a lifelong professor, chief physician, and doctoral supervisor at Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine.
Social Positions: He is a member of the Standing Committee of the Guangxi CPPCC, director of the Medical and Health Committee, vice-chairman of the Guangxi Association for Science and Technology, vice-president of the Chinese Association of Orthopedics and Traumatology, president of the World Federation of Manipulative Medicine, chairman of the World Federation of Manipulative Medicine, senior president of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Orthopedics, senior president of the National Association of Orthopedics and Traumatology in Higher Education, vice-chairman of the Orthopedics Professional Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, a member of the final evaluation committee of the National Science and Technology Progress Award of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and a research project reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
Academic Achievements: He has published more than 105 medical papers, obtained 3 national patents, and received 6 provincial and ministerial scientific and technological achievement awards. He is responsible for and holds the technology for research achievements such as "Manual Treatment of Cervical Vertebral Hypertension Abnormalities," "Relationship Between Changes in Spinal Curvature and Neck, Shoulder, Waist, and Back Pain," "36 Methods of Spinal Lesion Treatment," "New TCM Diagnostic and Treatment Techniques and Clinical Applications for Spinal Diseases," "Wei's Extraordinary Points and Techniques," "Opening Methods of Yin-Yang Five Elements and Their Application in Spinal Lesions," "Clinical Application of Tong'an Decoction," and "Application of Ziwu Liu Zhu Theory in Manipulative Therapy." He has authored 16 major books, including "Encyclopedia of Chinese Manipulative Diagnosis and Treatment," "Practical Chinese Orthopedics and Traumatology," "Practical Bone, Joint, and Soft Tissue Injuries," "Spinal Related Diseases," and "Bone Nourishment Can Save Lives." He has co-authored 12 books. As a primary mentor, he has supervised 105 master's students, 8 doctoral students, and 2 post-doctoral researchers. He has been honored as a Master Teacher of Bagu, Master of Gui School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and National Orthopedic Master. He has been a guiding teacher for the academic experience inheritance work of national veteran TCM experts and has enjoyed special government allowances since 1992. In March 2018, he was awarded the title of China Good Doctor, and in 2019, he received the National Outstanding Contribution Award for Traditional Chinese Medicine.
International Influence: The Guangxi International Manipulative Medicine Association, World Federation of Manipulative Medicine, and World Federation of Manipulative Medicine, founded and led by him, have organized and presided over more than 20 international academic conferences in China and around the world. He has lectured and conducted academic exchanges in countries and regions across five continents: Asia, Europe, Australia, the Americas, and Africa, having a significant academic impact both domestically and internationally.

Work Experience**: He has worked at Guangxi Ruikang Hospital for over 10 years. He holds a master's degree in TCM orthopedics and a Ph.D. in biology from Giessen University in Germany. As an academic heir to Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine Wei Guikang, he has been engaged in TCM medical and research work.
Academic Achievements: He has published 6 books and over 20 academic papers both domestically and internationally. He has participated in projects that have won 3 provincial and ministerial scientific and technological achievement awards and has been a key participant in more than 10 National Natural Science Foundation and provincial-level research projects. He has assisted Master Wei Guikang in establishing over ten inheritance studios in Guangxi, Guangdong, Henan, Shandong, and other places. He has also engaged in academic exchanges and lectures in more than 10 countries and regions, including the United States and Germany.
