Dr. Zhi Ming Liu 刘志明 国医大师

Dr. Liu was an internationally renowned TCM doctor who received the prestige title “National TCM Grandmaster” in the second inauguration ceremony since the introduction of the prestige award. He was also the mentor training the first five hundred TCM experts in the country. He later received the title “The mentor of the National Master of TCM” from the state capital because he was the supervisor for the very first graduating class of the TCM doctoral programs in the country. He was among the first group of TCM doctors receiving special grant from the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. He was appointed as an state health care expert and was among the first group of appointed medical science research officer in China Academy of China Medical Sciences. Dr. Liu practiced TCM over 80 years, accumulated both extensive clinical experiences and wealth of TCM knowledges. He was a precious asset in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Over the years, under the leadership of the chief physician Dr. Liu Ruxiu, a team of forty students documented and passed down both the invaluable knowledge and the clinical experiences from Dr. Liu Zhiming. Each of the students also subsequently became a TCM expert in the field of cardiovascular, endocrinology, nephrology, geriatrics, psychology, pediatrics, and gynecology. The students attended Dr. Liu’s clinic observations and lectured by Dr. Liu himself. They were the successors to Dr. Liu’s TCM practices. In addition, they established a WeChat public account under the name of “The National TCM Master Liu Zhiming and associates" and regularly uploaded Dr. Liu’s teachings and clinical experiences, providing a learning platform for TCM doctors and alike.

1925 年生于湖南湘潭。 国医大师，中央保健专家，首批、第六批、第七批全国名老中医师承导师，首届首都国医名师，首批博士生导师、博士后指导老师、传承博士后导师，首批享受国务院特殊津贴专家，资深研究员。幼承七代刘氏中医家传，从医八十余载，曾任多届中国中医科学院及广安门医院学术委员会副主任委员、学位委员会委员；中华中医药学会副会长；第六、七、八届中国人民政治协商会议全国委员会委员；现任中华中医药学会顾问，中国中医科学院首届学部委员。

1954年刘老响应国家号召，参加中国中医研究院（今中国中医科学院）筹建工作，为建院首批专家中最年轻的一位，也是当下唯一健在的一位；数十年来在中医药防治乙型脑炎、血吸虫病、小儿病毒性肺炎等领域有重要影响；多次出国访学，凭借精湛的医术受到当地学者及百姓的称赞与尊敬，为中医药扩大了国际影响力。

刘老至今仍然坚持在中国中医科学院广安门医院从事中医临床、科研、教学工作。擅长治疗内、妇、儿科疑难杂病，外感热病、心脑血管病、老年病、肿瘤、风湿病、肾炎、糖尿病、甲亢等；代表性论着有《中医内科学简编》、《中医学》、《刘志明医案精解》、《中华中医昆仑?刘志明卷》、《国医大师刘志明临证经验集》等，并在国内核心期刊和国外期刊发表论文数百篇；在中医学术传承上，先后培养了学术继承人、硕士、博士研究生、博士后及传承博士后数百人，遍布世界，为中医药的传承和发展做出了突出贡献。

从青衿之岁到白首之年，从师承名医到独立行医，从悬壶三湘到名扬全国，从名满杏林到桃李满园，刘老用他的智慧赤诚和辛勤走到了一个辉煌的顶点。他在中医药临床及科研、教学上的特殊贡献，得到了党和国家的高度肯定和重视。刘老先后荣获卫生部“中医药事业突出贡献奖”“全国首届中医药传承特别贡献奖”“中医药学术发展终身成就奖”“北京中医药薪火传承贡献奖”“北京市科学技术奖”等。2009年，刘老被授予首批“首都国医名师”称号。2014 年，刘老荣获国家卫计委、人社部、国家中医药管理局联合授予的“国医大师”殊荣。
